Medicine is one of the fastest growing and most in-demand careers today. This summer, high school students from across the Tri-State area have the opportunity to participate in the 29th annual Health Science Institute (HSI), a rigorous two-week program for students interested in exploring healthcare careers sponsored by the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation and Deaconess.

HSI allows current sophomores and juniors to experience first hand the wonders of medicine and will give them insight into a variety of medical careers. During the two weeks, students will be housed on Deaconess’ campus and will interact with more than 100 health professionals, participate in 12 clinical rotations (including surgery and trauma) and explore Deaconess facilities and local universities.

Students interested in applying must be a current sophomore or junior in a Southwestern Indiana high school or home school in Gibson, Posey, Vanderburgh, or Warrick counties and have at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Applications are due by 4 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2019.
