Women’s Basketball looking to get back on track in first MVC home weekend

Two individual milestones are within reach this weekend for the University of Evansville women’s basketball team as both Sara Dickey and Sasha Robinson will be looking to continue stamping their names in the Purple Aces history books when both Loyola and Bradley pay a visit to the Ford Center on Friday and Sunday.

Tipoff on Friday against Loyola is scheduled for 7 p.m., and Sunday’s showdown with Bradley is slated for 1 p.m.

Dickey, who has registered double-digit points in 10 of UE’s 13 games this season, enters the weekend with 1,354 career points, which is eight points shy of former player Amy Lefever at No. 5 on the Aces’ all-time scoring list. The junior is averaging 15.6 points per game this season, and she leads the Aces (1-12, 0-2 MVC) in three-pointers with 32 on the year, which accounts for 37.6% of UE’s treys.

Robinson, who made her 2015-16 debut just five games ago, is averaging eight points this season. The Nashville, Ind., native enjoyed one of the best outings of her career a week ago, tying a career high with 17 points in last Friday’s loss to UNI. She is just six rebounds shy of joining the 500 career rebound club.

The duo, which has played in all four meetings between UE and Loyola since the Ramblers joined the Missouri Valley in the 2013-14 season, will be looking to continue the success that has seen the Aces take home three of those contests, including both meetings at the Ford Center.

This season, Loyola has posted a 5-7 record, and they are currently riding a three-game winning streak, picking up road victories at DePaul, Rice and Bradley.

Meanwhile, Bradley is 4-8 on the year and will be taking a four-game losing streak into the weekend. The Braves, who have dropped two of their last three meetings with UE, will play at Southern Illinois on Friday before making the trip to Evansville on Sunday.
